The Skills Needed to Scale a Business
I’m excited to share that Peter Brooks and I will be leading two interactive round‑table sessions at the upcoming VACEOs Summit this April.
We’ll explore a central theme from our book Survival to Success: the difference between the skillset needed to start a business and the capabilities required to scale it. Together, we’ll dive into building sustainable systems, hiring and supporting leadership teams, and developing compelling external narratives.
These sessions will be highly interactive—small groups will work through cases, share insights, and surface practical lessons that apply to leaders across industries and organizational stages.
One truth we’ve seen repeatedly: You can’t go it alone. Strong leaders recognize their strengths, supplement them wisely, and build processes that leverage their team’s capabilities to execute and grow.
This spring, we’ll be taking these conversations on the road at conferences and convenings nationwide. Stay tuned for updates—we look forward to sparking dialogue and equipping leaders to thrive in complexity.
